The racial divide is one of the most pervasive and daunting problems the church faces. It hinders our effectiveness as one body of believers. It damages our ability to witness to and serve seekers. Why won't this problem just go away? Because is it a spiritual battle, answer Brenda Salter McNeil and Rick Richardson. Through their experience and study of Scripture, they have come to believe that the problem of racism must be solved through inner change--and community transformation. Only then are we able to work corporately for the kind of global change that's desperately needed. Thus, their book takes up the role of healing prayer and spiritual warfare in bringing about social change. This book challenges each of us to identify the power of evil in the world and to give up our idols for the sake of Christ.

Rev Dr Brenda Salter McNeil and Rev Rick Richardson have been working and teaching together in the Chicago area for fifteen years. Brenda is the founder and president of Overflow Ministries, a multiethnic organization devoted to the ministry of racial and ethnic reconciliation. She is also one of the authors of Women's Liberation Jesus Style. Rick ais the associate director for evangelism with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship and is working on his Ph.D. in intercultural studies at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. He is also the author of Evangelism Outside the Box, and Finding God, Spirituality, and Sex, in the Groups Investigating God series.
